1A Tournament Division
Qualifying Round
30 second freestyles. Top 16 move on to the Round of 16.
Round 1 freestyles will be judged just as Nat's and Worlds are judged. Two clickers (one for positive points and one for negative), highest 16 scores advance to the Round of 16.
The players advancing to the Round of 16 will be put into the brackets depending on their placing in the Qualifying Round. Places are marked on the outside of each bracket in the picture
here.
Round of 16
16 competitors > 8 matches of 1 minute freestyles
Each match consists of two players each doing one freestyle. The winner of each match will move on to the next round. Round of 16 and after will be judged by the three judges, each judging specific criteria:
Technical – hits, misses and difficulty
Originality – innovative aspects to tricks and trick elements
Performance – smoothness, style, flow and stage presence
Each of these criteria are one third of the players freestyle score.
Quarterfinals
8 competitors > 4 matches of 1.5 minute freestyles
Semifinals
4 competitors > 2 matches of 2 minutes
Third Place Match - the two players that did not advance after the Semifinals.
2 competitors > 1 match of 2 minute freestyles
First Place match - Winners from Semifinals
2 competitors > 1 match of 3 minute freestyles
MUSIC for 1A Tournament Division
DJ will choose music for Qualifying Round and Round of 16.
Players are encouraged to bring a CD with 4 songs total. One song that is 1 minute 30 seconds in length, two songs that are 2 minutes in length and one song that is 3 minutes in length. Players may use the same song if you wish or have songs chosen for you by the DJ.
2A – 5A
The 2A – 5A divisions will be judged by the three judges, each judging specific criteria:
Technical – hits, misses and difficulty
Originality – innovative aspects to tricks and trick elements
Performance – smoothness, style, flow and stage presence
Each of these criteria are one third of the players freestyle score.
2A-4A Divisions
No qualifying round. Competitors will do a 2-minute freestyle. Criteria Judged.
Competitors need to bring a CD with their music for their freestyle.
5A Tournament Division
